We are members of an organic farmers' cooperative. We get $1.75 a dozen for the eggs. The extent of our work is to pack them on filler flats and put them in the egg cooler in the barn. A truck from the cooperative comes once a week to pick up the eggs and haul them to a processing plant where they are processed, packed, and distributed for retail sale. Since it is a farmer owned cooperative, any excess profits from sales are paid back to the farmers as dividends.
