A few pics of my first chickens.

A few pics from todays time free ranging. They are still hesitant to explore at first.

They hang out near the box and run for a while.

I am a newbie to keeping chickens. Is there any reason from what you see to suspect any of
these chicks could be roos?

From these pics I would say 1 maybe 2 cockerels. The chick in the front on the third pic and the chick in the 5th pic look like boys to me. Although it is early.

Here are a few more pics of the chicks. Coop should be done by the end of the week next week. Wednesday they will be 3 weeks old, so I plan on putting them in coop on next Sunday night.

It is interesting to see the difference between the leg coloring of the BO's and EE's.

The 4 chicks have all been staying full time outside since Wednesday night. Friday they had figured out how to get up on the roost, but I they are not sleeping up there yet. They still sleep huddled together down on the floor, near one corner.

Today the neighbor with the 8 chicks from MPC came by and told me his wife is upset over the chickens and he may need to give me all 8 now. I am kinda hoping he does, because there is so much room in the coop/run he built me. I was planning on getting some more anyway.

I will take some more pics soon.

Some new pics. I have given them names.

A BO named Molly.
