A few questions about ideal hatchery......

Thanks Ninjascrub69.

Funny story:

You can't tell from the pictures but my coop is an old cotton trailer still on it's wheels. I have some old trailer house house steps for entering and exiting. Elvis (rooster) and Priscella are standing on the top step in the fist picture. Anyway, when I let them out the everyone but Elvis loves flying out the door or hopping down the steps. I have to pick him up and put him outside or give him a little push to make him fly. He will go up the steps, no problem, but will not go down them. I guess he has stair anxiety!

I just recieved my order from Ideal this morning. I ordered 38 and recieved 40! I havent had a chance yet to figure out who were the extras. My husband took them home to set them up! I cant wait to get home and meet everyone! All we alive and alert. Their customer service was fantastic, and I would use them again in a heart beat!

I've ordered from Cackle and Ideal. All of my birds arrived alive and healthy from both hatcheries so I didn't have to contact customer service on either one. I ordered Buff Orpingtons from both places, though, and the quality of the birds was VERY different. The BO pullets from Cackle grew up to be very thin framed, pale colored and their combs folded over- nothing like they were supposed to look like. The BO pullets from Ideal had the heavier body type, rich buff color and upright comb the breed is supposed to have. I'll post a few pictures to show you how my adult birds from both hatcheries turned out. All were good layers and gentle birds although definitely pet quality. I sold them all this Spring.

In front is a White Cochin hen from Ideal (who grew up to be even prettier) in front of a Partridge Rock hen and a Buff Orpington hen from Cackle.

I can't find a picture of a BO hen from Ideal but they were very pretty!
