Question No 1:
When do Silkies start laying? I know most birds lay at about 20 weeks, but Silkies lay later than that right?

Question No 2:
Whe do Silkies begin to crow? I need to know this so I can prepare to return my Silkie I bought as a 1 week old chick that I think is a boy.

Question No 3:
At what age do Silkies stop making baby noises/ tweeting? Just curious.

Question No 4:
Should I give my Silkies a haircut? It is over their eyes and they can’t see properly. I even saw one of the run into a tree! If so how should I do it? I tried putting their ‘hair’ up in a ponytail but they just shook it out!

1. Mine were late layers....around 28 weeks
2. I was told silkie roos can be super quiet if there is another roo close by. I can't verify because both of mine were girls. I will say girls will chatter constantly(I think this answers 3) and as they get older they will almost sound like they are quacking
4. I trim mine since they free range with a mixed roo during the day. It allows them to see their surroundings better. Since I started so young with them, the will sit in my lap and hold there heads very still while I get it taken care of.
