What percentage of protein do ducklings need? Do they need a lower/higher amount as they get older or the same amount their whole life? Feed stores around my area only have chicken feed and no waterfowl feed. I had planned on feeding them the same thing I feed my chicks because of this reason. Right now I feed my chicks non-medicated organic starter crumble by MannaPro. It has 19% protein. Will this feed work?

Also about brewers yeast and niacin. Do ducklings have to have one or the other or do they only need one if they start to have problems? Also which would be better to give? How much would I give them if they need it?

Your chick feed is fine. Yes, extra niacin is needed til 10 weeks old. Either brewers yeast or nutritional yeast is fine for extra niacin add 1 Tbsp per cup of feed. At 7 weeks your ducks can go on all flock or mixed flock feed. If still feeding chicks the chick starter is fine til they switch so you aren't buying multiple types of feed.

I had trouble finding brewer's yeast in my area so I use Bragg's nutritional yeast. I get it a Kroger's (grocery store) in baking aisle or health food aisle depending on store. You can usually find one or the other at any health food store as well. Like a whole foods store or something like that

Alright! I'll have to go to a few stores then and see if I can find some. The ducklings should hatch tomorrow and be here on Wednesday! I'm assuming I give it to them from the first day I get them?
