My 12 year old found this little documentary on the domestication of quail while researching a geography project. I was surprised to hear David Attenborough narrating and even more surprised at the glaring visual issues (a guy with dairy cows whilst discussing manure: from quail!, wrong species or AI generated non-species visuals) and the info was very repetitive and slightly weird (some cultures view quail as symbols of courage!?). I have no idea how accurate the info is overall but I’m thinking this whole thing is AI generated (yes, even the famed voice, would he really narrate an obscure little video like this with glaring errors? And wouldn’t you highlight your celebrity narrator if you owned the rights?). It isn’t a horrible video but it is just clunky and awkward, and it would be nice to know if it is accurate! At least when I was a kid you could trust the encyclopedia!

I have no idea of the accuracy of the history (I only watched about 3 minutes in, though) but the imagery is certainly off. It does look like they just grabbed random videos and voiced over them.

It talked about quail farming in ancient Egypt so I googled that and it was a thing, so some of its history is apparently okay, there’s even a quail hieroglyph!
