Sorry for the repeat pics. Dont know how to take them off.
This is the plan i used for my coop. As you can see, i added an addition because....chicken math...The original A frame housed 10 full sized birds and was fine for roosting at night as long as you have a large enough run. I added the 8 foot addition and run to house 18. I love this coop and it works well for us. The siding is pressure treated cedar fencing from lowes with thompsons cedar weather stain. Easy to build.

The attachments didnt work :( we have a nice house were looking for something safe during the day to use as a tractor cant wait to see your pics!

Ended up making a square shaped one out of spare parts from the chicken mansion were working on :) youre right about the shade issue and rain protection. Doing a solid top out of a piece of plywood we had laying around worked great. Not safe from predators digging under but is safe from flyover birds and the dogs getting in (1x2" hardware cloth). Yes were in florida

The floor was a 4×8 sheet of plywood and housed/crammed in 8-10 birds if i remember right.
They only used it for roosting at night and egg laying and fit fine with no issues. Ive moved and no longer have that coop. Very easy to build but not efficient at all if you have a large flock. I had ended up adding a rectangular addition to the side when i added more birds.
I loved the A -frame. It looked nice and was easy to build. I may build another smaller one as a breeding pen.
