Those are Rhode Island Reds (that's what RIR stands for right?). They look more chocolate to me - gorgeous! I've never seen such pretty ones!

Yes, RIR = Rhode Island Reds. Really, most of these breed abbreviations on here aren't that tricky, til they start getting into colors. (BLRW = blue laced red wyandotte, I think?)

Mine are: Black Australorp, New Hampshire Red, Barred Rock, Speckled Sussex, Buff Orpington, Easter Egger (not a breed, a mutt,) Silver Laced Wyandotte, Danish Brown Leghorn.

I gather it's more like mahogany in a real RIR than chocolate, in real light; has a red tinge.
