A good death

This morning my boy and I were collecting eggs and we found one of my oldest hens had passed away. She looked so peaceful her head still tucked under her wing as in sleep.I think she just went quietly in her sleep amongst her friends. I hope whatever afterlife hens may have is nice for her. I hope we gave her a nice life. We got her as a mistreated cast off with most of her back and tail feathers pulled out and nursed her back to health and she had three good year's with us. Godspeed Oreo Godspeed!

It's always rough even if we know it's part of having our birds I'm sorry for your loss
