A Good "New & Improved"

As many of you know one of my life rules is that; "New and improved rarely is." Today I found the exception that proves that rule.

OldGal and I decided that we needed a new vacuum cleaner, and one of the brands that we are considering is Dyson. I checked their website and it left me with a few questions so I called their 800 number. After a brief bout with a couple of "select the reason for your call" menus I hear the dreaded but obligatory message, "We are currently experiencing high call volume..."

BUT that is followed by a great offer. If I don't wish to wait and be told how important my call is to Dyson every few minutes I have the option to press "1" and the system will hold my place in line, and call me back when my turn comes around. I admit to being skeptical, but I press one and verify my phone number.

Sure enough, I get a call back from Dyson about 10 minutes later, and my questions are answered politely and professionally. This experience alone is enough to make me seriously consider Dyson.

New and improved isn't always a bad thing.
