One day about 2-3 months ago, Lilac didn't come home. I feared the worst. Oscar and Emmet fought terribly over Gigi. The one day Gigi didn't come home either.

The two males having no one to fight over started getting along better. Then, as I was pondering placing a personal ad for these 2 widowers, "Loud obnoxious, lavender male seeks lavender female for long walks, eating grasshoppers, and making noise. 'I should have been named Napoleon' " And "Widowed white professional male seeks female who wears lots of make up, sings lovely songs, and wears polka dots, for long term relationship and commitment." Emmett vanishes too...

A day or two later, I see Oscar very chivalrously escorting his fair Gigi all around the farm.

Then, a couple days ago, I see the other two missing guineas - chasing grasshoppers, singing drinking songs, and having a grand time.

Where the two ladies went,

- I'm just really really glad they came home.

I decided to let my six out one day for the first time, they proceeded to walk straight into the corn field behind the barn and disappeared. Then I heard them two days later in cornfield across the street. Two days later I go to shut the barn and the two oldest ones were in the barn roosting. Over the next two weeks two more were found and brought home, neighbors called. Finally after three week another boy showed up at the pens wanting in. So now I am only missing my young female but she has been gone for a month now so little hope.

I would think they had a nest, and something got the eggs. Good thing whatever it was didn't get your birds!! Make a turkey hoop tractor and lock them up for a while, that will show them!

ETA: I don't know if you ever got my pm, but of the 6 eggs you sent me (on your contest giveaway) I had 6 keets hatch, 2 pearl and 4 lavender
