A hen who won't molt?

We've had hens for almost 6 years now and this is a new one for us. Our Barred Rock and Red Star have finidhed their molts, but our 16 month old Australorp hasn't even started yet! Has anyone else seen this and should I worry?

She could be a slow moulter who doesnt drop feathers like mad when she does it. Just a few patches here and there when she feels like it. I suspect at 18-20 months though she may become that pincushion you are seeking though.

do chickens HAVE to molt? My oldest ones are about 9 months and haven't molted yet. Is there something I need to do? they are still laying too!

I have an australorp who doesnt moult as much as the others at all, she only loses a few feathers.
My langshan banty doesnt moult at all, they are both about 5 years old.

Thanks, I won't worry yet! By the way, chicksnducks, chickens to my knowledge won't molt until they're no longer pullets (over 1 year old) but they lay eggs from 5-6 months.

ok good so I do not have problem chickens....

I guess I can expect that they will molt next fall?
