Hey there y'all!

I'm just needing advice on a particular matter....

Today I looked outside to see my big boy Alexander standing in the corner of the outside run uninterested in anything that was going on around him. So I decided to go out and check on him, plus feed the hungry crowd. The hens, along witht the healthy but skittish cockerel Sanderson, desperatly stepped over each other in attemps to be the first at food, but Alexander still stood unmoved. He even fell over, wings spread out as a hen crashed into him. I, having an emotional atttachment to my chickens, got super concerened so I scooped him up and now he is in a cage with a heat lamp with a bowl of fresh water.

Is he eating? Yes. He literally chowed down the food I gave him after seperation. Yogurt with nutri-drench and other chicken friendly-veggies works quite well for a sick lil guy.

Is he pooping? Yes.

Is he drinking? Yes.

Is his comb a bright healthy red? No, the tips are dark. The only reason why I don't think his conditon is some sort of circulatory problem is because it has been really cold of late and unfoutunently I believe he has frost bite. His wattle is a healthy red though.

Is he laying down legs splayed? Heh. No thankfully.

Mites? Checked for them, nada.

Sluggish? Yes, but he still has a level of spunk that gives me hope. His tail and wings are droopy though.

Well, I hope this gives you a clear view of what I'm dealing with. It is always a surprise with my chookies cause you don't know when something will come up. If you have any ideas of what might be wrong with him please share.

Thank you so much.

Pictures would be good of him and his comb. Are his feet affected by the frostbite? Drooping wings can be a sign of dehdyration. What do his poops look like—any diarrhea? I would stick to primarily feeding him wet chicken feed and a little cooked egg, tuna, or liver for vitamins. I just wonder if the cockerel has been trying to challenge him. Is he having any problems with balance or using his wings to get around? Hopefully, it isn’t anything serious, but I would encourage him to drink plenty of water. Crop problems can cause weakness, so make sure that his crop has emptied overnight when you check it tomorrow before he eats.

Weird. How are his eyes? Does he respond to sound? Was he fluffed up and looking cold when you found him? Is he crowing?
his eyes are bright and clear.

He seems to be very aware of his surroundings.

Slightly ruffled and hunched up when I saw him out the window.

Yeah he crows.

We always keep a waterer in the co-op so maybe he was just too weak to get to it? Maybe it made him get even weaker? I'll fry up a little bit of egg for him and maybe make that special chicken feed mash I make, warm and soft. He is wobbly when he walks, so idk. He doesn't have bumblefoot, at least I don't think he does. I should check that..... His crop does not feel hard in anyway and he doesn't stink. (Thankful for that because Sour Crop is a tricky thing to cure)

Well anyway.

Age?
Any new additions?
Can you please post pictures of him?
What size is your coop and run?
How many birds?
What are you feeding them?
Well he's getting older, I think they might be about 3? Going on 4 I think.
No new addtions since the year.
I feed them organic chicken feed crumble.
