A little at a time and tar paper question?

I have tar papered the sheathing but did not put it over the ridge area. Is this something that should be done for moisture? I have kept it open for air to escape up top as this will have metal roofing and a ridge cap.

Typically you wouldn't tarpaper or sheath the peak for the reasons mentioned.

You're on the right track.
 
To be clear, it's not just moisture but also ventilation (thermal exchange,) in general.
