We're first time chicken owners with 6 girls. They are 19 weeks old today!

Yesterday I spruced up their coop with some curtains & a cute little sign.... I guess the girls approved because today we got our FIRST EGG!

So exciting! My hens are 20 weeks old now, and this morning my Speckled Sussex started rearranging the nesting box, rummaging around and kind of acting weird, following me around more than usual, then going back to the nesting box and rummage some more. I just went out there and checked the boxes, and it looks like she is getting ready to plop an egg in the holes she made in the pine shavings.

My girl Georgia laid an egg today!!! I just took a picture! And it is perfect, not that big, but I am NOT complaining. I am so proud of her!
