A little help here? (Crooked post and to roof, or not to roof?)

I could live with it myself because I'm a rank amateur. None of my construction is exactly perfect. But except for this one flaw, yours is perfection.

Why not muscle the errant 2X4 to where you want it and nail or screw a 2 X 4 between the hinged piece and the piece with the latch.
Amateur here too.

I told dh to build a gate . make a wood frame and attach some of the welded wire fencing.

I guess I should have told him to cut pf a pice of fencing lol. Becaus3 the hinges arw just the fence bent over lol:gig

cavemanrich, thank you! I've definitely thought about digging up the post and either filling it with dirt, or even re-pouring the cement entirely. I'm 100000% positive I drive my husband nuts. :)

lizstreithorst, thank you! I'm blushing! I think I'll test out attaching a board to the post and seeing how that looks. The post is in there with about 2' of cement, so it's pretty set. But maybe attaching another board to the post to create a "bigger" post might work on its own.

therusticrebel, that's hilarious! The very definition of "if you want something done your way, you have to do it yourself!" :idunnolol
