Hi,

I have been a long time lurker of this forum and have gained some valuable information from a lot of posts on here. I know I have very little of my own information to give but what I do know I am happy to share.

I am UK based in Wales and have 4 hens. They are called:

Stella
Brenda
Ginger
Wilma

The first two are named after a UK comedy/sitcom called Stella based in the Welsh Valleys not far from my home. Mainly because this is where we got our hens from.

Above is their daily home. The coop is raised and they have space underneath to hide away from the rain. The roof is also a good cover from the bad weather we get a lot of.

Above is the 4 girls after we returned from a little holiday.

We have a chickenguard premium door which we use the timer on rather than the light sensor.

Thanks for the great resource and I hope I can add something extra to the community :)

Hello and :welcome. I really like your coop, did you build it yourself? Again welcome and hope you enjoy your time here:thumbsup.

Thanks for the welcome. I did want to build the coop myself but time was a factor as the hens had been living in a small borrowed coop I had. So we ended up just biting the bullet and having it built for us. We plan to construct an outdoor extension for the girls in the next few months and then they will have an outside area they can have access to from time to time.

They currently spend the most part of the day in the coop/run and then are allowed out for a few hours in the afternoon/evening.
