This is Korima. You can see her leg feathers here, though its a cell phone picture. Sorry it took me a couple of days, I was on duty and couldn't log in! They are out with the big girls now and wreaking havoc. I find them roosting on top of the coop door, and am thinking that clipping a wing may be necessary to keep them in the yard and not in with the neighbors dog!! Your little girl would be adorable with mine if she ever needs a vacation
What breeds other than the D'Uccle would have leg feathers like she has? Certainly her leg feathers scream D'Uccle after comparing to the other photos but the breeder said he doesn't have any, although maybe his mongrel hens have some in there somewhere.
Brahmas have feathery legs. My girl's arent that thick... maybe its a double dose of the feather legged gene that would do it, so she may be brahma x something small with feathery legs? Not that helpful, I know, lol!
well? Has it been decided who she is? Does she have a name? She's precious.
I suppose all of you have decided that she's probably a mix of Light Brahma, EE with maybe some D'Uccle in there somewhere which is the reason I asked in the first place because we had no clue. I don't know how much more she will change as she gets older but I will be sure to put the photos up here so you can all see what the future brings.
We call her Elkie...or more accurately "little Elkie"....not sure why but it just seemed to fit her...
