I have a Brahma roughly 5-6 weeks old. (S)he was bought as a pullet but I’ve never had good luck with that. They’re feathering out painfully slow, which I’ve read is common with chunky birds like brahmas. The only reason I’m suspicious is the comb is a bit bigger than the other Brahma chick I have who looks pretty much like a pullet. Also her eyelids look a little puffy. Can a chicken have allergies because the pollen out here is CRAZY.

This is the other for comparison.

I thought I could help, but I have Dark Brahma, not light. On DB, the cockerels quickly develop very distinct markings at the breast and shoulder, what I'd describe casually as a "wing bar". (picture is NOT mine, but from an older post here on BYC)

Its less distinct to my eyes on the Light Brahma, and reversed of course.

Its really a toss up. My buff brahma boy looked like a pullet, well...until he didn't lol. his comb didnt start getting reddish till after 8/9 weeks, and his shiny boy feathers didn't start showing up till 11+ weeks. You'll probably have to wait a couple more weeks before you can be sure.
This was my cockerel at 9 weeks.

I had this happen to my polish/turken. Everyone was sure it was a hen. Then one day he had saddle feathers.
