My rooster is quite the gentleman. Heās given me some incredibly beautiful and very docile babies. My Rock collection will of course grow next spring. We live in Ohio where the winters can sometimes be quite harsh and I donāt want to subject any baby chicks to those conditions. Our plan is to eventually sell our Rock hens to eager future chicken tenders. Hoping to sell them hens that are sweet and friendly but also preform at a higher percentage when it comes to egg production. I love my all my Rocks but our Barred Rocks are by far the most social and interactive. I only wish I wouldāve started raising and caring for chickens a long, long time ago.
I have my favorites. My "Rocks-Anne" will purr and want to be held. She's such a great Barred Rock hen!My rooster is quite the gentleman.
