Well, the older birds won't love them or mother them. And the old advice was to keep them separate until they were all the same size. However, many of us, have started to introduce them much younger. I start at 3 weeks of age in a safety zone. The chicks can move in and out of the zone at will, but the big girls cannot follow them. In a week, I have seen them eating under legs of a big one.
