A love story? Soulmates?

Ok a little off topic, but I finally got pics of Welch with her consort, Hamlet. Hamlet is the (unrelated) egg that Welch hatched last summer. Welch is one of the hens that has been an outcast multiple times and has rarely had a steady guy. She had a mate from the juveniles I introduced, but they were only together a month before he was smashed on the road last summer, then she was alone again until she hatched keets. I’m so happy to see her paired up again! I love the black and white contrast they present. :love

Out of curiosity, how old are they? Have they all been through a breeding season yet?
If not, I’d hold off on adding more adults till next year if needed.
You might find that once hens go broody your lonely hen will be accepted by a male who’s hen is “busy”.
You know.. you’re right. 6 of the 14 are only a year old and this is their first breeding season (hatched last year) so maybe I should just be patient. She’s not miserable. She actually seems to be hanging with my lavenders girls and their male. So she may be taken in with them.

Waiting is likely the best thing to do then:)
That will make things simpler for you so you won’t have to add any adult males in that could possibly cause more trouble for you.
