This is a short and brief message to our beloved unregistered guests to this wonderful website.
I am just an average member here on backyard chickens, I have nothing to do with the administration, just an ordinary average backyard chickens member.
I have just logged out off the site by accident, and was too lazy to go to the other room to get my password so I decided just to read a long and tried to navigate the website. It is a whole different world I will tell you. Having a free membership unlocks so many features, so many interaction applications and allows you to communicate with the other members of the community.
The short time that I have been a member, I have forgotten of how it used to be before I signed up last year. It is a magical experience to see the site for the first time if you have never had a membership before.
So I would recommend signing up for a free registration to start, you don't know what you are missing.
All it takes is an email address and creating a membership name.. The that is it.

So don't be like me, like I was last year, coming to the site for information and waiting so long to join in the group. I should have done it a long time ago.
Anyway, I just went and got my password, and logged in. You don't know what you're missing. Thanks for visiting backyard chickens and hopefully I can say one day welcome to Backyard chickens!

Not to mention this is not just a forum, but a community! Not all of us are chicken owners, some are looking into it as a hobby or business others just want to know the hows and whys because of someone they know has chickens or they read about raising chickens is a new trend among some people. There are LOTS of non-chicken related topics and threads here so if you are interested in anything that can be grown at home and any issues about life at home it here too! growing gardens both flower and vegetable, fruit trees and grapes and berries. home made crafts, furiture indoor/outdoor, buildings and many other things!

I'm not good with words as you are, so I'll just say that we don't bite, really.

I'm kind of laid up today and lazy and trying to get better. I logged out by accident and I tried to enjoy the website as a non registered member not logged in other words. It was terrible. I mean it's a wonderful sight get me don't get me wrong but all the perks that come with a free membership..that just it's crazy better. so I would recommend it to anyone and I don't know why I went so long without signing up but now I know what I was missing.

Been a member a very long time and You cannot fathom the value you get from the support and silliness and good information for what ever endeavor you wish even if its only curiosity. I have met a huge spectrum of people all over the world ... From Scientists to Breeders even one fellow that had his coop on the top of a high rise building in China... Even made some local friends through meetups.
