a new adventure...rats

well not exactly completely new, I have always had rats as pets. They are the best!

But a guinea pig friend introduced me to the world of pedigreed rats and breeding. I am so excited to have gotten a wonderful little pair.

Bitty Boy is a dwarf rat, I had never seen one in person until him and they are so tiny and he has the most outgoing sweet personality. He is a Himalayan and his points are just now coming in.

Faline is young but not a baby. She is a Siamese and just very laid back and sweet. She has a 50% chance that she carriers dwarf and I am hoping eventually for some little dwarf babies.

I could never have a rat/ any rodent, no one in my family can stand them.

But they do look cool.

Yay for you! I love rats and until you do the research you never believe the varieties they come in. I no longer have any as I feel that I can't give them the time and attention they deserve.

But the last 2 I had were Snitch a beautiful adorable dumbo and Louise my hairless. They were the last of many starting with my first rat Frankie I adopted the SPCA when I was 16.

When any of my friends talk to me about getting their kids a hamster I adamantly say RAT!

I have never been bitten by any rats but I have been bitten by many a hamster,gerbil,mouse,chinchilla......

Rats rock!

How sweet....good pics. I only have a plain little hooded rat right now, I adopted her when she was 8 months old....She is such a good girl!
