My pups name is Evie. She’s 12 weeks old and her older brother, Rook is 8 months old. Rook was raised along side my chickens over the summer.
It helped me cope with the loss of my Siberian Husky last June. I purchased my chickens at a Tracker Supply for a dollar a piece. (I couldn’t say no!)
As they grew I had fed them grasshopper Id catch. (Sorry if that’s gross, but mother hen has to support her babies) and I raised them with Rook, my cat Leon, (he also passed away in the Fall, and my ferrets)
I posted a while back asking about the sex of my chickens and what their breeds were. I appreciate all the advice and help I got. Two of my 6 chickens turned out to be Roos. (My only EEs, I was really looking forward to possibly getting pink eggs) my rocks and my light brama turned out to be female, so that was luck on my part because I picked most from straight runs not knowing what that meant.
The beginning of winter I took the opportunity I found and snatched up a Ayam Cemani I found in another chicken group. They all get along and they are just starting to mature so im watching for fights and overbreeding. So far its been okay and come spring ill be getting another hen house. (I actually have 13 chickens chickens altogether but the other 6 females are not mine)
