a new broody question

ok well my duck went broody a couple of weeks ago can she tell which eggs are still alive and growing just in case

I'm pretty sure she can Kevin...just like a broody hen can tell things are still alive under her....

I don't know about that. My hen is sitting on two golf balls that definitely aren't alive.....she seems to think they're going to hatch!

I am keeping her broody and will give her some babies this week if the eggs in my incubator hatch.

I bet if your broody sets too long on those golf balls she will figure out the difference

Hopefully she won't figure that out for a few more days.....she has been sitting on them for about 25 days now.....!

My incubator eggs are going on day 20 so I am hoping she can get some chicks from that. I was going to try putting eggs under her, but she is so tiny and I have suspicions that she is an egg eater........

I paid a lot for my maran eggs and didn't want to risk it!
