Update day 3. Looking at her, we have only tiny flock, she has a speckled Sussex mother! We love them but they didn’t have Sussex in when grandpa went to Buy three more chicks for this lonely baby ! Now there are four and they’re all the same age what a difference the new ones are cuckoo Maran, copper Maran, and black Maran !

We had a very difficult experience, obviously we aren’t hardened farmers like my grandpa was, but one was stuck in her shell and we worked with her for hours and died this morning so the new ones are to go with the one hatchling that survive our first experience with an Amazon 12 egg incubator ʻ self turner and heat and moisture.. simple little thing, next time we would pay much closer attention to the humidity when it’s necessary. all in all it was very exciting

Pusscat loves them. She pats them when we let her and they call her .. I Know very careful but they all calm. We use red heat lamp at night. covid-19 has them in our bedroom til feathered. So much for plans!

Although same age as “Hatch” (she in middle) the 3 purchased Wyandotte’s are heavier body and on roost more. They 3 prefer each other. Hatch has way more personality so far.
