A new Roo???

We have a small flock, 7 hens and 1 roo, at home now. My wife has seen a stray roo at Starbucks the last couple days and I believe it is destined for our house soon. What is the best way to introduce the new guy to the flock?

Any insight is appreciated.

I recently introduced a roo to my flock. I got the roo from a friend . This roo was about a month younger than my hens which are 7 months old. I knew the roo was healthy so I just put him in the pin. So far so good. You should quarantine first from what I've read for a month. I've never done this so hopefully someone who has can answer . Most only have one roo for every 10 to 15 hens. I now see why. Good luck.
