It's finally [almost] finished! I ordered the kit back when I ordered this batch of Freedom Ranger chicks... and then the box sat there. Those chicks are now 11 weeks old and _really_ need to be in my freezer!
My barrel is not the same shape as the one in the instruction book, so it took me a while to figure out where to cut it and to figure out the measurements for the frame. I can do the math, but spatial relations are not my strong point.
The next hardest part was keeping DH from getting creative instead of just following the directions in the book!

It still needs wheels and a handle. It's heavy, but two of us can lift it.
This morning I processed the first four birds, and it was *so* nice to just watch them bounce around in there instead of manhandling them over my old drill-powered table-top plucker. No sore shoulders or bruised fingers.
After looking at all the options, DH went with a Grizzly motor for it. We had most of the screws and bolts as well as the flexible conduit, our local hardware store provided other bits and pieces, and the sealed switch came from Home Depot.
