(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes, very new to chickens. We got our first ones in March of this year.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I think 60!
(3) What breeds do you have? We started out in March with 6 black sex links and 12 Rhode Island Reds. Since then my brother bought a new house and decided to not continue with his chickens. We now have around 60 total chickens and I have no idea what breed they are! Knowing my brother, he probably bought all the chickens at Rural King at the end of the season! Of the ones we got from him, 3 are laying hens and 1 rooster, 2 banties of some sort and the rest babies. We also have 3 adult ducks and 2 baby ducks from him. Again, no idea what breed!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening, grandchildren (6!), herbs, essential oils, teaching Sunday School, former scrapbooker, and slowing down card maker. (not necessarily in that order!)
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I live with my husband on 60 acres that have been in my family since the early 1900's at least. We have 2 grown children and 6 grandchildren, one inside dog, a long-haired chihuahua and one outside dog named Reba, but again, no idea what breed! We keep inheriting animals that come with no credentials! Both my husband and I are no longer in the work force, but not really "retired!" Don't ask!
