Yup, something like what ddawn said.
I've been a backyard chicken keeper for about 17 years. I learned a lot from my grandmother. And am still learning.

Hi,
I want to stay a good egg and introduce myself. We have 24 Buff orpington chicks two weeks old. We are in Florida and have had so much rain lately...feast to famine, but backward. The humidity has been 100% for over ten days...yes, I mean ten days of solid rain. Do I need to worry for them? We do not use air-conditioning. They have a brooder light. Our Outside temps have swung from 98degrees to 58 degrees in the last two weeks. We are keeping a good eye on the brooder temps, but everyone looks damp. We clean the cage two to three times a day. They are in that scurffy awkward stage. Does everything sound 'normal enough" or is there something I should look out for?
I have spent many an hour reading your site before commiting to chicks...now I think I should have read more.
Thanks,
Jan
