Glad you joined. I love what you are doing. as close as I can get to a farm is my chickens and ducks. I live in the city. With all our animals I dont have room for a garden. I thought of putting one in the front yard, but I have 2 hugh maple trees out there and it would cost a fortune to take them down besides they shade the house and we dont have AC. Its pretty hot here too heat indexes in the 110-114 range, but we have had lots of rain this spring and early summer so we are not as bad off as you poor folk in Texas are. You will love the chickens and ducks. We have had ours for about a year and a half. I too have babies right now. Our D'Anvers decided to go broody but killed 2 after they hatched so the rest are in the house. I also have 12 in the incubator but think 2 are duds. I am trying to get a barter system going trading my eggs for veggies and fruit from peoples garden.
