You sound like someone I would very much enjoy knowing in real life. Have you heard of the "Flow Hive"? It allows you to harvest honey without opening the hive or upsetting the bees. I don't know if there are any downsides to it as I don't know much about bees, but it seems to me like it would work well and be kinder to the bees than taking off their roof and possibly smashing some when handling the frames.

I need it to make candles, because I don't want to use electricity later, when I build my final house, but I might need light sometimes
With a top bar hive, there is no frame or bases, the whole comb is built by them, so I would get more wax even with very small amount of combs stolen from them. (Because I don't want to take too much, maybe one or two, if they still can replace it and only if it's needed at the moment-also in my country they want us to prevent swarming, most of those will be killed, so giving them work will do the trick-, but I plan mostly just take the honey left after the winter season, so they can build new combs, and store fresh food for the next year, also I will want to refresh the nest with empty honey combs every year, so that will get me some honey and wax too by removing the old nest when everyone came out.
