I wonder if in the future most human controlled hatchings will be shell-less to maximize hatch rate and identify problems early on?
 
I don't buy it. Never saw the chick 'hatch' out of the plastic. It was just sitting on top of it... plus chick looks awful clean.. most are a bit more messy when born.
Chick hatched out of egg, she waited a bit, then plopped on that cup.
This couldn't work. Eggs need to be turned to prevent embryo from sticking.

Yeah, you can turn a cup. And they don’t hatch out of the plastic, you remove the plastic on the top and take the chick out once it is ready.
