A picture I took of why I LOVE geese!

Tonight while doing my chores I got to witness one reason why I think geese are the most incredible species and why I have so much love for them.​

During breeding season its mostly the female who sits on the eggs, but if she gets up to str​

etch her legs, our male takes over, fussing around checking that they are all tucked in neatly and then sitting down to his share of the brooding process. Sometimes I find him tucked up by her side, as though he'd like a turn.

Its true devotion for each other. And a sight I finally was able to catch on camera which if you know geese or own them know that usually the male would never let you do this !​

What a lovely picture of the gander on the nest with the goose! I have not taken a picture of this but one of our ganders get and lays on the nest when the female is off the nest. I thought how sweet.
My ganders to tend to the nest by plucking their chest feathers out and putting them gently into the nest for the goose. If you watch them outsie while courting the goose you will see the gander picking up things to show their nest building skills. Geese are so special to their mates.....
