a fertile egg, it grows a life,
from chicken husband to chicken wife,
it warms and grows and grows and grows,
a tiny eye, 8 tiny toes.
A pair of wings, a pair of legs,
it's what's inside all hatching eggs.
The moment comes, chick pokes about,
then noisy peeps, and struggling out.
It lays exhausted, tired, wet,
feathers dry and up it gets.
From hard smooth egg, to little bird,
the trip's amazing, a miracle's occurred.
