Cluck cluck said the hen to the farmer one day
I think I might just go and lay!
So she sat up on the sweet soft nest
with her head set opon her chest.
She sat and sat for days on end
With out a telling of who or when.
On day 21 (she was keeping count)
One of the eggs wobbled about.
The happy hen let out a yell
So loud that the baby egg almost fell!
She peeked up under her downey fluff
to see a tired chick (hatchings tuff)
It wobbled and scrambling to find it's feet
The excited hen, her baby happy to meet
She clucked contenly, till the hatching was done
and stared in awe as the chicks marched one by one
The chicks all grown up now, decided to lay
And grow their chicks up to laugh and to play.
