A Polish hen wanders in to my backyard...what am I to do?

I have had backyard chickens for a few years. They free range in my neighborhood, ALL of my neighbors enjoy them & I also share my eggs. Here is my delemia: I have five chickens that roam about in the eight lots on my cul-de-sac. Three days ago a Polish hen just showed up, hung out, & decided to stay. My girls saw her but didn't really interact. That night when she was still here I had to put her in the coop with four of my girls as the 'backup' space, my shed, was occupied by a broody hen. I watched them go to coop & this little bantam walked right in behind them. That night all was well. Now they seem to be enforcing the peeking order & I am not sure how to help. Should I keep her close but separate at night? I did post on my local blog looking for her owners. no response thus far.

no blood, leave them alone. Blood you have to do something.

Maybe they have interacted before since yours range the neighborhood? Sounds like it is working out by itself as long as no blood is shed. Congratulations on your new hen.

Too late for quarantine! I'd say you have a new bird, and the pecking order will sort it'self out in due time. The easiest way to integrate is by letting them free range.

I let my 4 week old chicks out today for some free range time with the flock just before bed time. They'd have been doing it much sooner but I have a new pup, and she has not yet given up on the "chase" behaviors. All went well, as I knew it would. My 2 Doms came over to visit the babies. The rest of the flock was too busy chasing down greens and bugs to pay any attention to the babies.
