I remember our chicks having the same thing. The solid poops always had the white caps but the runny ones where always a brown. How do your chicks look? Does it look like there is any blood in the poop?

that is very normal... chicks that have been shipped and/or moved around in a store, etc, are often under a lot of stress and will have loose stools/runny poop for a few days. Just watch its behind... if the runny poop dries on its rear end, it's called "pasting up" and can block the vent and the chick won't be able to poop anymore and could die. Most of us have to watch for this and clean poopy butts for a few days with new chicks. It will go away soon if the baby is not sick (if there is no blood in the poop and no other symptoms, then it's probably not sick), and you won't have to worry about it any more

if there are other symptoms, you can post in the "emergencies" forum...

I got a good deal on them from the farm store. I knew if I waited for awhile they would be cheap and they were.
