Beautiful pic! I think owls are so mysterious and majestic. I can honestly say that (as far as I know) I've never lost a chicken to a winged predator. My chickens were free ranging several years ago (so long ago it wasn't called free ranging - it was called letting them out of the pen!). I watched a hawk circle above the flock and suddenly dive into the middle of them. I thought the hawk was after the hens, but it flew off a little ways - it had a snake in it's talons!
