A Question About Ducks - Broodiness?

hey DWD! know that pic i posted on here of the pool for the ducks how old do the ducklings have 2 be before i can put that in with the 2 girls nd the them ?

I'm thinking maybe five to seven days. I think sometimes people start sooner. The main thing is to watch them. The mother duck should be watching them to see that they don't stay in too long and to warm them up if they need it when they get out, but you should watch her to see how well she is doing her job!

Yes, when you first start giving them greens, chop them well. If they aren't outside yet, give them a little grit to go with it. I actually sprinkle it on my babies' first greens and fruit because they don't always know to eat it.

I'm not sure, do you mean from the time you first see a hole in the egg until the duckling comes out of it? My only experience was with a big confusing bunch of eggs that were under the duck the whole time it was going on. The first thing I became aware of was the sound of peeping, and two day later there were lots of ducklings hopping all around my hen. Some people with incubators might be able to answer this better though.

i went out there now and one egg was liquidy nd smelly so i smashed it and there was a little baby inside so it must have died a few days ago
