A Question About Ducks - Broodiness?

wa color will thay be if the father is a pekin ? hes a pekin and there sitting on 2 black swedish eggs and 3 pekin eggs wa color will the black swedish and pekin baby's be ?

Good question. I don't know enough about the genetics of Pekins. My best guess is you could get black or white ducklings. They will most likely resemble one parent or the other and I bet they will be big. Pekin X Swedish should make a nice large duck. Not sure which color will dominate.

If the daddy is the Pekin, the babies will be either black or white. I don't know which gene will dominate, the black or the white. My guess is that they will mostly be black, but you could have a white wildcard baby in there. It will be a fun surprise.

The white ducks will be SwedishXPekin. Crossbreeds. A white purebred Swedish would be a Splash (with the dilute bl gene I mentioned earlier.)

okayy what do u think will make a better mother a pekin or black swedish ? couse i can only keep 1 duck with the young couse when i put them in the duck house at night it wont be big enuf for the 2 girls and the baby's

Pekins really aren't known for their broodiness or mothering instinct. My experience with Swedes is that they make pretty good mamas. I don't know your ducks of course, but I would lean towards the Swede as playing mama duck.
