A Question About Ducks - Broodiness?

i only got 4 eggs left now another 1 smashed

and it wasnt a duckling inside it i dont think
i just candled the 4 eggs and its just dark inside the egg what dose that mean ??

Oh bummer!!!
I don't know much about candling eggs, when I tried I could hardly see anything except in one egg and worried they might be not developing but they all hatched. I'm not sure what you would see in a smashed egg with ten days left.
How are the eggs getting smashed?

I have heard of drakes and even sometimes hens smashing eggs out of clumsiness. Maybe one reason to separate the drake at least.

i just went onto a site and it said if its close to the hatch date and all you see is like just black, that's the baby duck.

Then that's a good sign!!
Maybe they are smashing the ones that aren't developing??

i just candled them again and i can see air cell's in them all now

there nearly all black but thay all have a air cell do u think thay will hatch out ?
