A Question For The Expert or The Experienced

I have a large flock of all of my favorite laying breeds, hens as well as roosters, and have started to separate them into pens by breed. How long do I have to wait until the hens will be laying eggs that are fertilized by their same breed rooster?

I want to incubate eggs,eventually, and would like them to be pure.

Three weeks and you are pretty sure. Four weeks and you are as close to positive as you can get with chickens.

Many breeders use three weeks, but different people on this forum have reported eggs being fertile 3-1/2 weeks after the demise of a rooster. So that means the original rooster may be the papa three weeks after the separation.
