Hey this is my first post.
We currently have 3 chickens 1 silkie and 2 gold laced orpingtons. The 2 orpingtons are never broody (at least in the 3 months ive owned them) but the silkie has been broody twice already. After falling in love with keeping chickens i want to exapnd my flock, i was wondering is it possible to buy orpington fertilised eggs for the silkie to sit on and raise as chicks or do they need to be the same breed as the silkie?
Sorry if this is a stupid question but ive never owned a chicken in my 21 years and have recently gone from a 'city person' to much more of a 'country person'
