A question

This article is interesting, the class received 24 eggs thru a hatch program, the eggs hatched over a weekend and when the teacher and class arrived Monday there were 30 chicks! No human help.

I hope to get some double yolkers one day from my quail. They said the odds of 6 out of 24 being doubles, and those doubles all surviving and hatching alone were astronomical. I feel like it must be hereditary and the class just got a cluster of eggs from a familial group, the luck of the draw. Or someone who packages the egg program items was just fascinated with or drawn to choosing larger eggs, I’ve gotten 2 or 3 doubles at once from chicken egg cartons from the grocery store if I buy jumbo size.

That's cool. I think I came across that article when researching this (I didn't read all of it though).

I thought one of my hens was broody on six eggs, then she hatched seven chicks! She must have hidden an egg because I found seven shells.
