Must be kid friendly. Dual purpose or egg layers. I have a few EE but they are not friendly. My friendliest is my lone Cochin. any recomendations. Prefer breeder and show quality would be nice! My 4 yr old LOVES her chickens!!! THANKS!!!!

Gamefowl (Oriental or American) is my first thought. Next would be Araucanas, Naked Necks, and any Mediterranean breed is heat-hardy, however, they're not always super friendly.

IDK what part of TX your in, but I am around SA. I have a 6 week old pure black copper maran boy, and black cochin(have absolutly no idea if its a boy or girl), that have to be rehomed. They are both super sweet, I have a 2yo, 10yo, & 13yo and they all hand feed them, and hold them through out the day. I sooo wish I could keep them, but I live in a neighborhood, and when the rooster learns to crow, it will blow our cover. And since they have been together since birth I dont want to seperate them (can u tell we are attached to them lol). If you decide you would like them and your not to far away please just let me know. I just want them to go to a good home where they will be loved!! Thanks!!

I just added Egyptian Fayoumi peeps to my group. They are great foragers and take the heat really well. The Henderson chart give some more info on them. They are not a common breed at all and the reviews I found online all spoke highly of having them in their flocks.

Delaware do OK in cold and heat, so do Leghorns, Minorcas, my fav. in heat are Partridge Pendescenas b/c I like their dark eggs!
If those don't do it for you, check the Henderson's chart!

Ohh.... forgot...
