I am putting two topics together. I was out dumping Alpaca poop on the pile yesterday even., and noticed Radar the grey alpaca smelling something at the base of the fence. Poor little rabbit had somehow or other tried to get through the small wire we have as fencing, and got its little hind leg wrapped up on the bottom wire. He hung there and died. My 8 year old and I was just sick. I hate the thought of that little guy hanging there until he died. . .really upset us for the rest of the evening.

I went to Missouri yesterday to see our other alpaca and the new baby (she has grown so much!!!) and The lady that is keeping them for me, gave me two male peacocks that are a year old. They aren't tame, but I don't care. She said to get my run done and they are MINE!!! One is white and the other pied. I am just floored that she would GIVE them to me!!!!!!

Free peacocks! Lucky you

I know . . .Tina is just awesome and so good to me. She has such a gorgeous farm in Missouri, its just a joy to go there and check things out!! I learn a book full of stuff everytime I go to visit my Alpacas, which I hope will be coming to our little farm in three weeks!!! I will just have to make it a point to go visit her without a reason!!! She is close to two hatcheries too, so that made me happy too, because she knows which one is the best!!!

As someone who has a peacock, he is my pride and joy and delight to have, you are so lucky I have always wanted a white male! ....so have lots and lots of patience with them and they will reward you with lots of love...mine does he is so tame, but only with me, I can stroke his tail and he walks along side of me...but it takes a long long time to get them this way, keep them in their pen for about a month so they know it's home, then let them free range, mine ranges with all the girls (hens) and guineas, in the summer he roosts either on the chimney pots of the house or in at big old oak tree. In really bad weather he will go into his stable for shelter.... he always comes to the kitchen window for treats, and is often found peeking through the patio windows to see what we are up too......... enjoy them you lucky thing!
