Hello, my husband and I live part-time in Chiang Rai, Thailand. We are avid cyclists and love life without a car in northern, rural Thailand. Here the roosters crow night and day but their greetings do not bother me. I cannot say the same about the barking dogs! Check out my blog at confusedcyclistinsiam.com.
When we are back in the States, I work as a seasonal Registered Nurse at a long term care community, and help my husband, who is retired, manage our rental apartments. Because we live in a city, we are not allowed to have backyard chickens but there is hope the ordinance will be changed. However, it might be a stretch to ask the neighbors to look after the chickens for six months, and I don't think they would appreciate a 36-hour journey.
So I live in the past with my childhood pet chicken, a Rhode Island Red named “Cluck-Cluck.” I gave her a blue ring to differentiate her from the other chickens, hence my user name "A Ring Is the Thing." I welcome your thoughts on my attempts to write and publish a non-fiction children's picture book for chicken lovers of all ages.
