A rooster alone for a few months?

My neighbor is thinning her flock and was planning to get rid of my favorite roo! I love this guy and have offered to take him off her hands. I have day-old chicks coming tomorrow and no other chickens. Is it unwise for me to bring this rooster home to be alone for several months? Will he start misbehaving? How can I keep him happy?

I'll bet your neighbor is thinning out older hens as well as the rooster. I'm sure they would be willing to send two of his hens with him at a very reasonable price!
